Note: UNICEF Education, NYHQ is currently undergoing organizational changes; therefore, the exact location of the post has yet to be determined. Selected candidates may be required to commence duties remotely until the location is confirmed. Under the guidance of the Education Specialist (Learning Passport Global Program Manager), and the Senior Advisor, Education (Education in Emergencies), you will be accountable for coordinating the global, regional and national implementations, and supporting engaged Country and Regional Offices of the Learning Passport within Education Programme Division, in accordance with the Workplan and reflecting UNICEF's Priorities.

For every child, education……

The Coordinator is required to provide the following services:

  1. Coordinate engagement, tracking, and reporting of Country Office Learning Passport leads who are deploying the Learning Passport.
  2. Manage internal and external communication platforms
  3. Assist in the onboarding of new countries, specifically engaging content uploading and population of Learning Passport instances.
  4. Assist deployment team lead in the development and dissemination of onboarding resources for CO’s staff and training tools.
  5. Participate and assist in country onboarding activities with the deployment team
  6. Other activities needed to support the purpose of this contract.

How can you make a difference?

Key functions and accountabilities will include the following:

  1. Support the Development, Scale up and Roll out of the Learning Passport:
  2. Coordinates implementation activities in all Learning Passport countries
  3. Provides guidance and resources to ensure successful roll out activities
  4. Represents Learning Passport user base to Microsoft counterparts in the prioritization and development of functionalities.
  5. Manages consultants and other Learning passport deployment team members
  6. Provides support to Country Office implementation teams
  7. Provides development and constant updating of deployment guidance, based on lessons learned.
  8. Feeds into and represents user groups in UNICEF’s requested feature enhancements, bug fixes, functionality improvements, and maintenance and support of Learning Passport platform

  9. Support Learning Passport communities

    1. Guide and maintain Learning Passport user, administrator, and project management communities
    2. In collaboration with ROs and ICTD teams, scope product requirements and toolset integrations that meet articulated needs of Learning Passport communities.
    3. Feed in user perspectives and successes to support dialogue with donor agencies and developing funding proposals in support of the Learning Passport work.
    4. Represent Learning Passport communities in the promotion of the Learning Passport at various fora as required

To qualify as a champion for every child, the candidate must have…

  • An advanced university degree in International Development, Political Science, Education, or other social science relevant field.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience with some experience in the 6 main areas of the assignment.
  • Thorough understanding of Education programming and/or relevant technical fields.
  • Excellent writing skills for a wide variety of purposes.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in Excel and Powerpoint.
  • Experience with the Learning Passport is an asset.
  • Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) or a local language is an asset.
