Duties and Responsibilities
The Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean is one of the five regional Commissions of the United Nations. It was founded in 1948 with the purpose of contributing to the region's economic and social development. Its mission includes the design, monitoring and evaluation of public policies and the provision of advisory services, expertise and training to Governments, as well as support for regional and international cooperation and coordination activities. The internship in the Division of Production, Productivity and Management will last 3 to 6 (2 min/6 max) months, depending on the needs of the Office. Candidates may be selected throughout the posting period, on an "as-needed" basis. Under the supervision or overall guidance of an economic affairs officer, tasks will include: The intern will support the Digital Transformation Unit team in gathering information regarding Artificial Intelligence regulation in Latin American and Caribbean countries. They will also collaborate in collecting information on digital agendas in the region. The contract duration will be 2 months. The work arrangement will be full-time, with 2 days of in-person attendance and 3 days of remote work.

Languages
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. Knowledge of spoken and written English is required for the internship. Knowledge of an additional official UN language is an advantage. Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian and Spanish are the official languages of the United Nations Secretariat.
