Support the UNCT on gender equality initiatives and campaigns.
You have:
- Be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); or be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent).
- Good knowledge of standard software applications, especially MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Teams, and MS Excel. Knowledge of MS Lists or similar software is desirable.
- Field of study closely related to the internship type is required.
- Previous engagement in organization of youth activities is desirable.
- Ability to coordinate/organize activities with groups of people and/or events is desirable.
- Fluency in Macedonian and English is required. Knowledge of Albanian is desirable.

Duties and Responsibilities
The Human Rights and Gender Thematic Group works to promote gender equality and human rights across UN initiatives. It coordinates joint campaigns, meetings, and data-driven advocacy efforts to support inclusive development and social justice. Thematic campaigns and events are regularly organized to raise awareness on gender equality and human rights. These include joint UN initiatives, advocacy drives, and stakeholder consultations. This internship is located in the United Nations Resident Coordinator Office and UN Women in North Macedonia. The Intern will support the work of the UN co-chairs of Gender Theme Group, and gender focal points in organization of internal meetings, data visualization, and joint campaigns. In particular, the tasks include: • Support the Human Rights and Gender Thematic Group in organizing meetings including calendar invites, minutes of meetings, and logistical coordination. • Support the organization of meetings and events with external stakeholders. • Assist in the visualization and analysis of gender data to support advocacy and programming. • Maintain and update the Gender Stakeholder Database, ensuring accessibility and accuracy. • Support the preparation and implementation of joint gender equality campaigns, including development of tools and materials for coordination. • Supporting the UN in the reporting towards the SWAP gender equality scorecards by end of November. • Other required tasks as per management request
Qualifications/special skills
Applicants must meet one of the following requirements: - be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); - be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent). Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience. However, a field of study that is closely related to the type of internship that you are applying for is required. Applicants must have good knowledge of standard software applications, especially MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and MS Teams and especially of MS Excel. Knowledge of MS Lists or similar software is desirable. Previous engagement in organization of youth activities is desirable. Ability to coordinate/organise activities with groups of people and/or events is desirable. Applicants must be a student in the final year of the first university degree (bachelor or equivalent), Master’s or Ph.D. Programme or equivalent, or have completed a Bachelor’s, Master’s or PH.D. Languages
Fluency in Macedonian and English is required. Knowledge of Albanian is desirable.

The intern must have access to a computer and reliable internet connection. The UN Mission will provide access to necessary software and databases.
