Duties and Responsibilities

The Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean is one of the five regional Commissions of the United Nations. It was founded in 1948 with the purpose of contributing to the region's economic and social development. Its mission includes the design, monitoring and evaluation of public policies and the provision of advisory services, expertise, and training to Governments, as well as support for regional and international cooperation and coordination activities. Please visit our website at www.eclac.org for further information. The internship in the Resident Coordinator Office in Perú (Lima) will last 6 months, depending on the needs of the Office. Candidates may be selected throughout the posting period, on an "as-needed" basis. Under the supervision or overall guidance of the Partnerships Officer and the Communications Officer. The intern will contribute to the following: • Support the RCO’s communications strategy, including drafting and adapting content for institutional digital platforms. • Support the coordination and implementation of key RCO activities, including assisting in the organization of meetings, workshops, and events. • Support preparation of presentations, speeches, minutes, briefs, and other communication and information materials. • Support the maintenance and updating of communications and partnerships databases and key information resources, as well as other administrative tasks as required. • Contribute to the implementation of the RCO’s engagement and outreach strategy by conducting stakeholder mapping and identifying potential collaboration opportunities with key partners from government, civil society, international organizations, academia, private sector and youth networks. • Support collection and analysis of partnerships and finance for development data. • Assist in coordination of relevant interagency groups, including support to follow up of agreements. • Participate in team meetings and contribute to other relevant activities of the RCO. Output/Work Assignments: • Timely and quality contributions to the implementation of the RCO’s communications and partnerships activities. • Drafted communication and information products (e.g., presentations, briefs, digital content). • Support to the organization and documentation of meetings, events, and coordination processes. • Updated and maintained information systems and resources.

Qualifications/special skills

Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from an undergraduate or graduate program in International Relations, Communications, Political Science or a related field. Applicants must meet one of the following requirements: • be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree program (minimum bachelor's degree or equivalent). • be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school program (second university degree or equivalent, or higher) Desirable Qualifications: • Strong analytical skills. • Proficiency in use of MS tools, shared documents, at least one data analysis or visualization tool (ej. Power BI, Tableau, or similar) and fluency in use of AI. • Ability to synthesize complex information into clear, accessible products for non-technical audiences.

Languages

Fluency in spoken and written English and Spanish is required for the internship.
