The Donor Visibility Unit oversees visibility and recognition for all OCHA donors, working within the Donor Relations Section. DVU plays a role at all phases of the institutional relationship with capital donors, from reviewing visibility clauses in the initial agreement, to thanking them for their contributions and partnership, collaborating on joint campaigns and showcasing results, to amplifying donor testimony on the value and impact of OCHA and the Pooled Funds. Under the overall guidance of the Head of Unit, and supervised day-to-day by the Associate Public Information officer, the intern will be asked to contribute to: Social media and campaigns: • Support social media campaign planning, development and implementation, under Social Media Strategy; • Conduct research and support in creation of StoryHub impact stories; • Assist in running campaigns for flagship events and missions; • Draft content for DVR-related social media engagement. Design and multimedia: • Design clear engaging graphic communications for social media. This would include logos, branded promotional materials, digital and social media graphics, posters, flyers, and other marketing materials, as needed; • Assist and participate in image selection for public dissemination. Provide metadata for captioning and archiving purposes; • Organize the clearance, production and distribution of social media material; conduct photo and graphic research. Social media monitoring: • Research, monitor and record OCHA and Pooled Funds’ donor and partner-related media impact and recognition content; Research and update monitoring lists; • Research social media analytics, trends and tools; • Support advancement of Social Media Strategy, including research into evolving platforms, community growth and guidance;. • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/special skills

To qualify for an internship with the United Nations Internship Programme, the following conditions must be met: • Applicants must meet one of the following requirements: (a) be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); (b) be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent). • Be computer literate in standard software applications. • Have a demonstrated keen interest in the work of the United Nations and have a personal commitment to the ideals of the Charter; and • Have a demonstrated ability to successfully interact with individuals of different cultural backgrounds and beliefs, which include willingness to try and understand and be tolerant of differing opinions and views. Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work. experience. However, a field of study that is closely related to the type of internship that you are applying for is required. Your training, education, advance course work or skills should benefit the United Nations during your internship.

Languages

Fluency in English (both oral and written) is required. Knowledge of any of the official languages of the United Nations is desirable.
