  • Fluency in English is required.
  • Knowledge of French is desirable.
  • Knowledge of an additional United Nations official language is an asset (Arabic, Chinese, English, Russian and Spanish).

Duties and Responsibilities

Programme Management & Fundraising Internship (2 positions) UNOG has been developing opportunities for institutional and individual giving, including through a new website. This internship offers an opportunity to contribute to these activities, as well as to support other programmes and projects. The daily responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: · Support content development for the UNOG donation website, including drafting project descriptions, success stories, FAQ’s and communication material. · Contribute to the setup of individual giving at UNOG, such as assisting with the implementation of a payment service provider, website development, or the introduction of standard operating procedures (SOPs). · Supporting the design and implementation of other projects to promote innovation, change and process improvement within the Library & Archives. · Assist in the organization and servicing of events, workshops, and meetings, including the development of innovative formats, record‑keeping, and follow‑up. · Support communication efforts by preparing email outreach, drafting briefing notes, developing social media posts, or producing internal and external communication materials. · Provide support on additional tasks as needed.

Qualifications/special skills

To qualify for an internship with the United Nations, applicants must meet one of the following requirements: (a) be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); (b) be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor's level or equivalent). Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience. However, a field of study that is closely related to the type of internship that you are applying for is required. Applicants must be a student in the final year of the first university degree (bachelor or equivalent), Master’s or Ph.D. Programme or equivalent, or have completed a Bachelor’s, Master’s or PH.D. Programme. Do you meet any of the above criteria? If yes, please indicate which one and attach proof to the application. Please note that you will have to provide an official certificate at a later stage. Proficiency in using digital communication tools and platforms is desirable. Good organizational skills and attention to detail is desirable.

Languages

English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the internship advertised, fluency in English is required and knowledge of French is desirable. Knowledge of an additional United Nations official language is an asset (Arabic, Chinese, English, Russian and Spanish).
