You have:
- Be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme in Instructional Design, Education Technology, Adult Learning/Teacher Training or a related field.
- Be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme in the related fields.
- Good knowledge of a Moodle-based Learning Management System is desirable.
- Proven ability to use content authoring software (e.g., Articulate 360, HP5, etc.) is desirable.
- Proven ability to use media design software (e.g., Adobe CC, Canva, etc.) is desirable.
- Fluency in spoken and written English is required for the internship.
- Knowledge of an additional official UN language is desirable.
- Must ensure they have a valid visa and approved employment authorization to undertake the internship.

Work Location
This internship is designed to be full-time and in person but can be adjusted based on the needs of the successful candidate
Expected duration
Expected duration: 6 months. Desired start date: 1 August 2025.
Duties and Responsibilities
The Department of Operational Support (DOS) was established to provide end-to-end operational support, advisory services and other solutions to operating entities across the Secretariat, including departments, offices away from headquarters, peace operations, and regional commissions. The Capacity Development and Operational Training Service (CDOTS) provides operational training, language and communications training, training on enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, knowledge management, and leads as the main facilitator of business process management activities in the UN Secretariat. This internship is located in the Language and Communications Unit (LCTU), Capacity Development and Operational Training Service (CDOTS), Office of Support Operations (OSO), Department of Operational Support (DOS). The Intern reports to the assigned senior staff. The intern will support the team in the administration and data analysis related tasks, including: • Support the design, development, and implementation of training courses, and other learning and development programmes and products. • Create graphic design assets for training materials. • Other tasks as requested.
Qualifications/special skills
Tp qualify for an internship with the United Nations Internship Programme, applicants must meet one of the following requirements: (a) Be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher) in Instructional Design, Education Technology, Adult Learning/Teacher Training or a related field; or, (b)Be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent) in any of the fields above. Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience. However, a field of study that is closely related to the type of internship that you are applying for is required. Applicants must be a student in the final year of the first university degree (bachelor or equivalent), Master’s or PhD Programme or equivalent, or have completed a Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD Programme. Do you meet any of the above criteria? If yes, please indicate which one and attach proof to the application. Please note that you will have to provide an official certificate at a later stage. Good knowledge of a Moodle-based Learning Management System is desirable. Proven ability to use content authoring software (Articulate 360, HP5, etc.) and media design software (Adobe CC, Canva, etc.) is desirable. Have you completed a UN internship before? If yes, please include the UN entity and the assignment dates of the prior internship.
Languages
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. Fluency in spoken and written English is required for the internship. Knowledge of an additional official UN language is desirable. Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian and Spanish are the official languages of the United Nations Secretariat.
Additional Information
Visa and Work Authorization Mandatory Requirements: For internships in the United States of America, persons who are not United States citizens, permanent residents or on another non-immigrant (such as F1 or J1 visa) status, will be required to obtain a G4 visa. The selected person will be responsible for ensuring that they have a valid visa, and approved employment authorization (CPT/OPT/AT), allowing them to undertake the internship.
