Duties and Responsibilities
- Event Planning and Coordination a. Assist in the logistical planning and coordination of the conference and related follow-up activities, including participant registration, liaising with attendees, and scheduling. b. Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, including academic institutions, to facilitate the participation of key speakers and attendees. c. Support the preparation of briefing notes, background papers, and other materials related to the conference. 2. Outreach a. Assist in the development of a targeted outreach strategy for the conference, including engaging with academic and policy institutions. b. Support the coordination of participant communications and follow-up correspondence. 3. Research and Content Development a. Conduct research on relevant topics and provide input for conference sessions and related follow-up activities. b. Support the drafting of reports, summaries, and evaluations of the conference outcomes. c. Assist in compiling and analyzing feedback from participants to inform future events. 4. Conference Support a. Provide general support, including note-taking during meetings and managing/organizing online folders related to the conference.
Qualifications/special skills
To qualify for the United Nations Headquarters Secretariat Internship Programme, the following conditions must be met: a) Be enrolled in or have completed a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent or higher such as Master’s degree or equivalent, Ph.D. or postgraduate degree); b) Be enrolled in or have completed the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum Bachelor’s level or equivalent). (c) subject to review on a case-by-case basis, applicants within a few years from graduation who could not apply earlier and who are in an early stage of their careers; as a first-time entry into the workforce; are changing careers or due to compelling family circumstances. No working experience is required to apply for the United Nations Internship Programme. Your training, education, advance course work or skills should benefit the United Nations during your internship. Applicants must be a student in the final year of the first university degree (Bachelor or equivalent), Master's or PhD Programme or equivalent, or have completed a Bachelor's, Master's or PhD Programme.
