Overview

Support the Population Division with research and analysis tasks during internship.

You have:

  • Be enrolled in or have completed a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent) or be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor's level or equivalent).
  • Studies in the area of International Development Cooperation is desirable.

Duties and Responsibilities

This internship is in the Population Division and will last 6 months, depending on the needs of the Offices. Candidates may be selected throughout the posting period, on an "as-needed" basis. The internships take place within the Republic of Korea-ECLAC Cooperation Programme. Daily responsibilities will depend on the individual's background and the internship period. Duties may include:

• Support the assigned unit by conducting online research and preparing inputs for outputs related to the work of the unit; • Assists in monitoring developments/issues on subjects or areas assigned by collecting, • selecting, analysing and compiling materials from multiple sources, e.g., relevant databases, the library and the Internet. • Gather information on cooperation strategies by countries, intergovernmental institutions, foundations and other actors in development cooperation; • Attend meetings and events related to the work of the unit; • Prepare briefings, talking points, take meeting minutes; • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/special skills

To qualify for an internship with the United Nations Internship Programme, the following conditions must be met: a) Be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); or, b) Be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor's level or equivalent).

  • For this internship, studies in the area of International Development Cooperation is desirable.
