Overview

Support multimedia and social media communication for UN projects.

You have:

  • Be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher);
  • Be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent).
  • Good knowledge of design programs and multimedia editing tools.
  • Familiarity with social media management.
  • Fluency in spoken and written Spanish is required for the internship.
  • Knowledge of English is an advantage.

Duties and Responsibilities

The Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean is one of the five regional Commissions of the United Nations. It was founded in 1948 with the purpose of contributing to the region´s economic and social development. Its mission includes the design, monitoring and evaluation of public policies and the provision of advisory services, expertise, and training to Governments, as well as support for regional and international cooperation and coordination activities. The internship in the Resident Coordination in El Salvador will last 2 to 6 2 min/6 max) months, depending on the needs of the office. Candidates may be selected throughout the posting period, on an “as-needed” basis. Under the supervision or overall guidance of the Communication Officer of the RCO El Salvador, Carlos León Ramos. The internship will support: • systematizing the interagency, cooperation multistakeholder meetings • the initiatives of the UN group with indigenous people • the research and elaboration of innovative financing tools (bulletins, concept notes) • the consultations for the Country Analysis • the action plan for resource mobilization for the pooled fund.

Qualifications/special skills

The basic education required is HS Diploma. Applicants must meet one of the following requirements: (a) Be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); (b) Be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor´s degree or equivalent). 1. Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience. However, a field of study that is closely related to the type of internship that you are applying for is required. 2. Applicants must be a student in the final year of the first university degree (bachelor or equivalent), Master´s or Ph.D. Programme or equivalent, or have completed a Bachelor´s, Marter´s or Ph.D. Programme. Do you meet any of the above criteria? If yes, please indicae which one and attach proof to the application. Please note that you will have to provide an official certificate at a later stage. 3. Good knowledge of design programs and multimedia editing tools. 4. Familiarity with social media management.

Languages

Spanish and English are the working languages of the UN Secretariat. Fluency in spoken and written Spanish is required for the internship Knowledge of English is advantage.
