Org. Setting and Reporting This internship is located in the Global Service Delivery Model project team GSDM) in the Office of the Under-Secretary-General (OUSG) for Department of Management Strategy, Policy and Compliance (DMSPC). The global service delivery model is an important component of the Secretary General's reform agenda, and aims to improve the responsiveness, efficiency, transparency and accountability of administrative service delivery across the organization, through the establishment of global shared services.

The intern(s) will provide support for the development of various aspects of the global service delivery model project including but not limited to the following: business process analysis and re-engineering, and supporting the implementation of the GSDM common catalogue by Secretariat entities in the client relationship management application of the Organization. Interns will also support project management activities, develop written reports and perform other coordination tasks as necessary. The internship will provide direct exposure to a major change management project and allow the candidate to gain a broad overview of the administrative and financial specialties across the organization.

This internship is offered for a minimum of three months with a possibility for extension up to six months contingent on availability of the candidate. Interns work up to five days per week under the supervision of a staff member in the office where they are assigned.

Responsibilities The intern(s) will be responsible for:

•Summarizing data to create graphs, tables and process maps. •Assisting in the development of correspondence, reports and presentations. •Assisting in the analysis and re-design of business processes. •Developing forms and workflows in the Organization’s CRM system to support the implementation of the GSDM common catalogue. •Assisting in the development of communication materials. •Providing coordination support for events, meetings and workshops. •Performing other support functions to project workstreams as assigned. •Other tasks assigned by the project team as necessary

Education To qualify for an internship with the United Nations Internship Programme, applicants must meet one of the following requirements:

1) At the time of the application - Be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); or, - Be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s level or equivalent) in Business Administration, Public Administration, Management or a related field;

2. The applicant must be computer literate in standard software applications; strong working knowledge of software applications including Word, Excel and Power Point is required, familiarity with Visio is a plus.

3. Have demonstrated keen interest in the work of the United Nations and have a personal commitment to the ideals of the United Nations Charter.

4. The applicant must have a demonstrated ability to successfully interact with individuals of different cultural backgrounds and beliefs, which include willingness to try and understand and be tolerant of differing opinions and views.

Work Experience Applicants are not required to have professional work experience for participation in the Programme.

Languages English and French are the working languages of the United Nations. For this position, fluency in English is required; knowledge of another UN Official language is an advantage.
