Tätigkeitsbereich

Partnering for Readiness (PfR) enables partner countries to strategically plan climate finance and access GCF funds by sharing experiences on effective readiness measures. This improves countries’ capacities to set up structures to implement climate projects independently and reach their climate targets.

PfR acts as a collaborative knowledge hub for climate finance readiness by: - contributing to shaping the international discourse and developing innovative knowledge building concepts - connecting countries and organizations and promoting the global transfer of knowledge and experiences - acting as a sparring partner to the GCF, providing in-put and feedback, and co-creating learning platforms and knowledge products.

Ihre Aufgaben

  • Under the guidance of a supervisor, you will contribute to tasks in the area of climate finance with a focus on the GCF and its readiness programme.
  • You will support colleagues in their work with partner countries and in knowledge preparation and exchange on topics such as green banking/finance, transparency and integrity in the management of financial resources, and climate finance training.
  • In doing so, you will get to know the administrative and organizational processes of GIZ's operations.
  • During your internship, you will gain an insight into the day-to-day business of the team, participate in, plan and prepare for meetings and discussions.

    Your duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Accompanying the development, implementation and reporting of activities in the context of GCF Readiness
  • Support in researching and producing information and working materials, e.g. on GCF Readiness Programme processes and needs and options for Readiness implementation
  • Information and communication management (Microsoft Teams)
  • Support with the preparation and follow-up of workshops and working meetings
  • Preparation of presentations or minutes
  • Presentation of GCF Readiness-related activities of GIZ for internal and external communication media

Ihr Profil

  • Currently enrolled in a Master’s degree or just completed a Master's degree
  • Expertise in the field of climate change, namely, climate finance, climate change adaptation and / or mitigation, expertise or motivation to get involved in the topic of green/sustainable finance is an advantage
  • Knowledge of development cooperation
  • Initial practical experience - also abroad - in the context of relevant internships or part-time jobs
  • Analytical thinking, structured working method and good oral and written expression skills
  • Ability to work on own initiative, also under time pressure
  • Business fluent in English, further language skills are an advantage
  • Good knowledge of common MS Office programs (Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

We pay a monthly stipend of €2.064,- (gross).
