- Previous experience in the power sector, ideally with distribution companies (DISCOMs)
- Previous experience in international cooperation, preferably outside of Europe
- Previous experience in working in the field of smart metering, renewable energy/electric vehicle integration
- Previous experience in knowledge management
- Previous experience in event management
- Fluency in English (minimum C1) and native-level German (C2)
- Strong self-organization and general organizational and planning skills

Job description
The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH is working on behalf of the German Government in over 130 countries around the globe. Under the Indo - German Energy Programme, the project "Energy Transition with DISCOMs in India" supports the Ministry of Power in India in building an economically efficient and socially and ecologically sustainable energy supply by supporting DISCOMs. The project is working with the Ministry of Power (MoP), the Central Electricity Authority (CEA) and selected DISCOMs in India on various topics associated with data analytics, integration of RE and EV in distribution grids, asset management and operation & maintenance (O&M) of distribution networks. The Intern will also support in the preparation for the upcoming Energy project RE500 as a shared resource.
Your tasks
- Support in technical research on smart metering solutions, applications of AI, and renewable energy/electric vehicle integration in the distribution network
- Support in managing day-to-day business operations and internal processes
- Technical and administrative assistance in organizing events (planning and conceptualization, collaboration with partners, implementation)
- Support in the development of knowledge products and communication materials (planning and conceptualization, research, compilation, and editing)
- Support for an upcoming energy conference in 2025
- Support in stakeholder coordination and management
- Support in project management
- Support in results-based monitoring
Your profile
- Currently enrolled in a Master’s degree program or recently graduated in a field relevant to the project, such as energy policy, renewable energy, energy access, energy efficiency, environmental economics, engineering, management, or social sciences
- Previous experience in the power sector, ideally with distribution companies (DISCOMs)
- Previous experience in international cooperation, preferably outside of Europe
- Previous experience in working in the field of smart metering, renewable energy/electric vehicle integration
- Previous experience in knowledge management
- Previous experience in event management
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong self-organization and general organizational and planning skills

Please be informed that you are only allowed to apply for this internship, if you are currently enrolled as a student or graduated not longer than six months ago from the start of your internship.
We pay a monthly stipend of €2.134,52 (gross). Depending on the country of assignment a monthly expatriation allowance (gross), predetermined by GIZ will be paid on top.
