Tätigkeitsbereich

At the GIZ Data Service Center, our mission is to empower organizations by turning complex information into actionable insights. We provide end-to-end support, from data collection and storage to analysis and visualization, ensuring your knowledge drives informed decisions and impactful outcomes. Our AI workstream helps to transfer knowledge through responsible and scalable AI solutions. We build a standardized portfolio of AI services designed to make the technology accessible and useful to GIZ projects and partners.

Our work spans three core areas:

We support teams from idea to implementation — assessing the feasibility of AI-based approaches, supporting tender processes, and translating domain needs into clear technical requirements.

We build practical AI prototypes and applications, such as generative knowledge assistants, GIZ project portfolio analyses, and automated document processing pipelines.

We develop and maintain scalable AI infrastructure in GIZ’s secure internal Azure environment and the Hugging Face ecosystem, enabling transparent, privacy-conscious deployments.

We are committed to open science and inclusive technology. That means publishing our work openly, building on open-source models and datasets, and ensuring our tools are accessible and relevant.
