Tätigkeitsbereich

GIZ is implementing the Indo-German Energy Programme (IGEN) on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). The Access to Energy in Rural Areas II (IGEN Access II) project aims to improve the energy supply in rural areas of selected federal states in India. Decentralised renewables present an opportunity to contribute towards sustainable energy access for household consumers as well as for productive uses of energy. In addition, achieving overall energy security through decentralised sources coupled with better planning would also reduce the burden on the exchequer. IGEN Access II seeks to upscale the proven results achieved in Phase I of the project. The project plans to deliver by adopting a holistic approach in overall planning by assisting the states in developing Energy Action Plans, disseminating proven models and instruments for improving the basic energy supply, and establishing a conceptual basis for enhancing the energy supply.

Ihre Aufgaben

  • Assist in implementing project activities related to decentralised renewable energy in rural areas and energy actions plans in urban areas by conducting background research and providing inputs to reports, briefings and background papers
  • Initiating research projects (including development of Terms of Reference)
  • Support in various project management tasks
  • Support in internal knowledge management and reporting• Support in monitoring and evaluation
  • Support in organising workshops and webinars
  • Support in dissemination of information, studies, reports and website management
  • Support in administrative and other ad-hoc tasks such as translations, minutes, presentations

Ihr Profil

  • Final year Bachelor's/Master's student of Energy Engineering/Environmental Sciences/ Economics/Political Science/ or related areas; graduation should not have been completed more than six months ago
  • Good expertise in the field of renewable energy - especially solar energy and productive use of renewable energy
  • Perfect command of German and English language
  • Good understanding of qualitative and quantitative methods
  • Strong communication and writing skills and ability to work in an intercultural organisation
  • Good MS-Office skills
  • Ability to work independently, result-oriented, and to quickly adapt to new tasks and contexts
  • First experience in GIZ partner countries is an advantage
