Intern-Monitoring & Evaluation

The Role Summary:

The Somali Resilience Program (SomReP) is a multi-year effort by seven leading NGOs to tackle the challenge of recurrent droughts—and the chronic vulnerability that results—among pastoralists, agropastoral, and peri-urban households across Somali regions. Designed to address communities’ unique needs toward building resilient livelihoods, the program builds on collective lessons learnt by its consortium members. SomReP is managed by a long-term consortium of seven leading INGOs, led by WV as principal recipient and grants manager. Consortium members oversee the programme in coordination with WV, through the SomReP Steering Committee.

SomRep is seeking a highly motivated and results-oriented Monitoring and Evaluation(M&E) Intern to join its M&E team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the DM&E Manager in the development and implementation of monitoring and evaluation plans for SomRep projects
  • Support data collection and analysis to assess the impact of SomRep projects and programmes
  • Support the DM&E Manager to prepare reports and presentations on the findings of monitoring and evaluation activities
  • Support identification and documentation of best practices
  • Support implementation and quality improvement for the Grievances Redress Mechanism (GRM)
  • As part of personal career growth and development, stay up-to-date on best practices in monitoring and evaluation

Essential:

  • Minimum of a first degree in a relevant field, such as Public health, Nutrition, Environmental studies, Agricultural sciences, data analytics, Economics, international development, or monitoring and evaluation
  • Strong understanding of research methods and data analysis
  • Should have strong knowledge of monitoring and evaluation methodologies
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Fluency in English and Somali is required
  • Excellent skills in MS Word, Excel, data analysis software and PowerPoint

Working Environment:

The position will be based in Hargeisa of Somaliland.
