Org. Setting and Reporting If you are passionate about Procurement, Logistics, Fleet Management, Property Management and Warehouse Management and other related topics, in support of making a lasting difference for Palestine refugees, an internship with UNRWA will give you the opportunity to work on the provision of advice, training and assistance on matters and policies relating to UNRWA's mandate and areas of operation within the Central Support Services Division, in UNRWA-HQ Amman. UNRWA human development and humanitarian services encompass primary and vocational education, primary health care, relief and social services, infrastructure and camp improvement, microfinance and emergency response, including in situations of armed conflict. The mandate of the Central Support Services Division (CSSD) is to ensure continued efficient, effective and high-quality support for substantive programmes in Headquarters and Field Offices in the areas of procurement, travel management, and other general administrative services. CSSD is composed of 70 staff members.

Responsibilities Implementation of the Knowledge Management CSSD project

  • Support CSSD teams in management of the implementation of the CSSD knowledge management projects.
  • Identify and analyze existing tools, guidance, documents in the procurement, administrative and policy areas.
  • Support in editing, proof reading and writing memos, publications, knowledge products, reports, presentations, and different enhanced communication.
  • Propose and promote creative solutions for knowledge management in the CSSD division.
  • Provides assistance in drafting of reports, correspondence and communication to internal stakeholders.
  • Assists with the collection and analysis of data as well as preparation of data presentations and reports for information sharing, responding to queries, knowledge management, planning and decision making.
  • Assists with visualizations and updating information material such as web pages or brochures. Support the establishment of Communities of Practice and monitor communication
  • Support the development of the CSSD Communities of Practice (CoP) initiatives and coordinate with field offices and different users.
  • Support in the development of online tools and communication on new policies and guidance on CSSD intranet Project Management, KM monitoring and Reporting
  • Review and monitor the KM project and follow up on implementation of online tools in coordination with ITMD.
  • Cooperate with ITMD on KM issues and online tools monitoring
  • Support coordinate projects and developments of online tools.

    Competencies Advanced level of analysis and understanding skills

    Education Advanced university degree (Master's degree or equivalent) or PhD from an accredited educational institution in business administration, public administration. Knowledge Management qualification or experience would be considered an asset.

    Work Experience No working experience is required to apply for the United Nations Internship Programme. Your training, education, advance course work or skills should benefit the United Nations during your internship.

    Languages Applicants should demonstrate excellent English communication skills, both orally and in writing, including the ability to draft documents in English.
