Org. Setting and Reporting OCHA is the part of the United Nations Secretariat responsible for bringing together humanitarian actors to ensure a coherent response to emergencies. OCHA's mission is to mobilize and coordinate effective and principled humanitarian action in partnership with national and international actors in order to alleviate human suffering in disasters and emergencies; advocate the rights of people in need; promote preparedness and prevention and facilitate sustainable solutions.

OCHA Indonesia addresses and facilitates issues relating to coordination, communications and humanitarian financing, and serves the entire humanitarian community. In doing this, OCHA works with the Government of Indonesia and other counterparts. OCHA provides support to the Humanitarian Coordinator (HC) and the Humanitarian Country Team (HCT) in Indonesia. Working with the entire humanitarian community, OCHA looks to foster a conducive operating environment that facilitates the effective delivery of humanitarian assistance (both material assistance and protection assistance). Crucially, OCHA promotes compliance with humanitarian principles in the humanitarian response.

This internship will be based in Jakarta, Indonesia. The intern shall be under the general guidance and supervision of the Information Management Officer.

The internship is being offered for a maximum period of three (3) months

Responsibilities In general, the intern shall support OCHA Indonesia in Information Management issues.

Daily responsibilities will be assisting Information Management Officer (IMO), Collecting data from partners, processing and update data.The IM intern will: - Assist in managing office databases, spreadsheets and other data tools; - Check humanitarian data for its accuracy, consistency and comparability; - Support assessment and needs analysis activities; - Support the management of platforms and tools that support data collection and analysis such as KoBo Toolbox; - Assist with the maintenance of spatial baseline and operational datasets in accordance with relevant standards and guidance; - Assist in the production and updating of information products such as reports, charts and infographics; and - Performs other related duties, as required.

Education To qualify for an internship with the UN Internship programme, applicants must meet one of the following requirements: a) Be enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); or b) Be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum Bachelor's level or equivalent); or c) Have graduated with a university degree and, if selected, must commence the internship within a one-year period of graduation from an academic programme

Applicants who are unable to commence the internship within one year of graduation shall not be accepted. The University degree must be in the area of IT, engineering, earth sciences or in a related field.

Work Experience No working experience is required to apply for the United Nations Internship Programme. Your training, education, advance course work or skills should benefit the United Nations during your internship.

Languages English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the position advertised, fluency in English is required. Also, fluency in Bahasa is desirable. Knowledge of another official United Nations language is an advantage.

Assessment Candidates will be assessed based on their Personal History Profile (PHP). Individual interviews may be conducted by the Hiring Manager directly for further consideration.
