You have:
- You must be a university student, preferably studying at master’s level.
- Knowledge of English or French is required.
- Knowledge of another ESA Member State language is an asset.
- Experience in space business, particularly in engine and propulsion technologies, is an asset.
- Knowledge in electrical/electronics is beneficial.
- Knowledge of control benches is an asset.

Our team and mission
Propulsion test facilities and services team is under the responsibility of the Infrastructure and Value Chain department. We ensure the maintenance in operational conditions of ESA-owned engine test facilities operated by industry and the public sector, and setup and manage the corresponding contracts with the different operators.

Field(s) of activity for the internship
Topic of the internship: Propulsion Test Bench
Your internship is composed of three parts:
- training dossiers preparation;
- innovation actions;
- network animation.
After integrating into the team, you will become acquainted with the test bench systems.
1. Activities regarding the training dossiers are:
- elaborate a teaching document (internal training) concerning “Control-Command Systems” of real-time propulsion test-bench sequences;
- prepare, together with the Test Bench operators or Technical Experts, teaching dossiers (external training) around test bench operations or techniques and safety constraints (MOOC-like).
2. Activities regarding Innovation are:
- launch a call for ideas by soliciting the Space Community network (potential themes: greening of benches, new technologies for bench systems);
- assess the ideas and identify interesting topics after the idea presentation pitches;
- prepare the procurement for the implementation of the chosen idea.
3. Activities regarding the Network animation are:
- prepare a workshop with several test bench operators and potentially Launch Service Providers;
- tackle tasks including contacting workshop participants, determining the topics and logistics, and preparing the presentations.

Education
You must be a university student, preferably studying at master’s level. In addition, you must be able to prove that you will be enrolled at your University for the entire duration of the internship.
Additional requirements
The working languages of the Agency are English and French. A good knowledge of one of these is required. Knowledge of another ESA Member State language is an asset.
During the interview, your motivation for applying to this role will be explored.
