Assist in planning and execution of internal communication initiatives.

You have:

  • You must be a university student, preferably studying at master’s level.

  • Knowledge of another ESA Member State language is an asset.
  • Knowledge and background in online community management, social media, Content Management Systems, AI and/or publishing would be an advantage.

Our team and mission

The Internal Communication Products and Channels Office in the Communication Department is responsible for the coordination, harmonisation, development and implementation of Internal Communication activities across the Agency. Current internal communication objectives are to inform employees about the 2040 strategic objectives, unify ESA's workforce with a clear brand narrative, enhance engagement and support cultural transformation, in particular through a new communication and intranet platform (called One ESA), inspire staff by emphasising the impact of their contributions, increase visibility of leadership communication, and improve internal corporate and institutional communication. It's a small team, distributed across ESA's establishments in Europe.

Position Overview You will join our team as an intern in internal communication, contributing to the planning and execution of key initiatives that strengthen organisational cohesion and employee engagement at ESA. This internship offers an exceptional opportunity to gain hands-on experience in particular in community management, where you will contribute to a specific community engagement project.

As part of your role, you will:

  • collaborate closely with the internal communication team to design and implement campaigns that resonate with the workforce;
  • draft, edit, and publish engaging content for the OneESA Intranet platform;
  • contribute to the management of online communities;
  • contribute to a community engagement project, e.g. for a specific directorate or a specific channel;
  • assist in organising internal events and activities aimed at fostering a sense of community among employees;
  • conduct research to identify best practices in internal communication and community management;
  • monitor and evaluate the success of communication initiatives, providing insights for continuous improvement;
  • support the development of storytelling approaches that highlight organisational achievements and values.

Education

You must be a university student, preferably studying at master’s level. In addition, you must be able to prove that you will be enrolled at your University for the entire duration of the internship.

Additional requirements

The working languages of the Agency are English and French. A good knowledge of one of these is required. Knowledge of another ESA Member State language is an asset.
