- Relevant field of study related to the internship
- Fluency in English and Spanish is required.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint) or similar is required.

Duties and Responsibilities
The Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean is one of the five regional Commissions of the United Nations. It was founded in 1948 with the purpose of contributing to the region's economic and social development. Its mission includes the design, monitoring and evaluation of public policies and the provision of advisory services, expertise, and training to Governments, as well as support for regional and international cooperation and coordination activities. Please visit our website at www.eclac.org for further information. The internship in the Human Resources Section, Santiago will last 6 months. Candidates may be selected throughout the posting period, on an "as-needed" basis. The Human Resources Section is organized in three areas of work: 1) Recruitment, 2) Staff Administration, and 3) Staff Development and Performance Management. This internship will be placed in one of the three areas. The intern may assist in implementing various initiatives. The intern will be under the overall supervision of the Chief of the Human Resources Section. Recruitment Unit: - Provide support with management of ECLAC's Internship Programme. - Provide support throughout the different stages of the recruitment process. - Review and maintain communication channels and outreach databases of the unit. - Organize information and documentation in the Unit Document Libraries. - Support the generation and update of the content to enhance employer branding. - Provide support with the preparation and distribution of monthly reports. - Assists with the collection and analysis of data as well as preparation presentations and reports for information sharing, responding to queries, knowledge management, planning and decision making. - Support in design and conducting training workshops, seminars, or presentations on assigned topics/activities related to recruitment. - Provide support with other projects, as needed. Staff Administration Unit: - Provide support to HR Partners with Onboarding and Separation activities; - Provide support with review and update of Welcome Guide for new staff; - Provide support with the administration and analysis of different surveys; - Provide support with the preparation, delivery, and follow up of different communications (e.g. memos, contracts, official documents, communication to all staff) - Provide support to HR partners with the preparation and distribution of monthly reports. - Update communication templates (e.g. outlook, brochures); - Provide support with special projects, as needed. Staff Development and Performance Management Unit: - Provide assistance by preparing and delivering material; - Assist in keeping record of the attendance of trainings; - Respond to queries by phone or e-mails; - Enter monthly training statistics; - Support the e-learning platform; - Verify the availability of rooms; - Translate training material into Spanish; - Schedule videoconferences; - Check audio equipment; - Install and check technology for the classes; - Assist in exam-taking; - Write inputs for evaluations and reports concerning training unit activities. - Other duties as required by the HR Section.
Qualifications/special skills
Applicants must meet one of the following requirements: (a) be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent). (b) be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher) Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience. However, a field of study that is closely related to the type of internship that you are applying for is required. Applicants must be a student in the final year of the first university degree (bachelor or equivalent), Master’s or Ph.D. Programme or equivalent, or have completed a Bachelor’s, Master’s or PH.D. Programme. Do you meet any of the above criteria? If yes, please indicate which one and attach proof to the application. Please note that you will have to provide an official certificate at a later stage. Relevant training or practical experience MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint) or similar is required. For this internship, studies in Administration, Human Resources, Data Analytics, Communication and Advertising are preferred.
