Qualifications and Experience

  • Currently enrolled and have attended University courses in the last 12 months inclusive of having completed at least two years of undergraduate studies or have recently graduated in the last 6 months with a BA or MA and have attended university courses in the last 12 months;
  • University degree graphic design, graphic arts or a related field, or a college diploma supplemented with additional years of experience;
  • Excellent knowledge of graphic design software;
  • Good command of Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign skills, an eagerness to learn new tools;
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point; Publisher);
  • Fluent in English. Other UN languages highly desirable.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)

  • Produce effective and visually-appealing print and online design products for learning and communication initiatives, including but not limited to: presentations, infographics, newsletters, data visualization products, motion graphics, visual information assets, charts, graphs, posters.
  • Contribute creative ideas for publications and visibility materials to reach and engage different WFP audiences.
  • Provide overall graphic design support to the Communications team.
  • Provide social media moderation support to the Communications team.
  • Improve or update and edit artwork/layouts, photos, charts and other graphic elements for corporate and promotional products;
  • Prepare final digital files for press, print, web and social media.
  • Archive, log and update digital media assets, e.g. interview audios, photos, videos and printed materials on the repository shared drives and stores.

OTHER SPECIFIC JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Available three times a week.
  • Online briefing and update meeting 3 times a wek.
  • Meet deadlines according to work plan.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

  • Interns receive a monthly stipend from WFP
  • WFP is not responsible for living expenses, arrangements for accommodation, necessary visas and related costs.
  • Depending on the duty station of assignment, WFP will reimburse travel ticket for candidates who are nationals of developing countries and are pursuing their studies in their home country.
  • WFP will recognize candidates’ educational credentials from recognised institutions that have been certified by competent international or national authorities such as the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) or Ministries of Education;
