UNESCO IESALC’s vision is to promote the right to higher education through capacity development for the formulation and implementation of quality, equitable, and inclusive higher education policies at the national, regional, and institutional levels in Member States, with a global outreach. UNESCO IESALC operates in English and Spanish. Since 2020, UNESCO IESALC has been expanding its research and analytical capacity, and currently has a core team based in the Institute’s headquarters, currently in Caracas, Venezuela, and a team of analysts based around the world working fully remotely. The Policy Analysis & Technical Cooperation (PA&TC) team is seeking to recruit an intern to work on the higher education and Sustainable Development Goals project. This project aims to explore the impact that higher education can have in sustainable development globally. Long Description ---------------- Under the overall authority of the Director of UNESCO IESALC, and the direct supervision of the Head of Policy Analysis and Technical Cooperation, the intern will contribute to the execution of the Project working as part of the interdisciplinary team at UNESCO IESALC. In collaboration with education stakeholders at different levels, the intern will carry out the following duties and responsibilities: 1. Assist in collecting and analyzing information on higher education and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 2. Participate in the case studies selection and validation. 3. Support in the preparation of deliverables, such as reports, videos, design, translation, peer review, etc. 4. Support in advocacy and outreach activities. 5. Carry out any other duty considered relevant to the fulfilment of the work plan of the Project at the request of the Director/Team Head. Long Description ---------------- After completion of the assignment, the intern will have: 1\. Acquired an in-depth knowledge of higher education and the SDGs 2\. Learnt how to deal with diverse stakeholders from various cultural backgrounds. 3\. Attained project management skills; setting particular objectives and develop appropriate mediation, monitoring and evaluation mechanisms. 4\. Gained solid working knowledge of the operations of and with an intergovernmental organization. 5\. Improve his/her drafting skills 6\. Strengthened his/her analytical, communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills. 7. Acquired the ability on fundraising.
