Globally there are 260 million and in Asia-Pacific 18 million children and youth out of school. Literacy and Lifelong Learning Team in the section for Educational Innovation & Skills Development implements a regional co-operative programme designed to promote literacy, non-formal education, and lifelong learning for disadvantaged children, youth, and adult under the guiding principle of a human rights-based approach to education. The programme of the team is in line with the Sustainable Development Goal No. 4: “Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all”. Our work is guided by UNESCO’s core values: commitment to the organization, integrity, respect for diversity and professionalism. Long Description ---------------- **Main tasks and assignments** This is your change to build more equity in education! Our dynamic team is seeking an intern/volunteer to work closely with the responsible Project Officer and assist the team to implement program activities. In particular, the successful candidate will contribute to the programme implementation through the following: Long Description ---------------- - Assist Project Officers in implementing projects by: - Coordinating collaboration with key partners like Equitable Education Fund (EEF), UNICEF, SEAMEO etc. - Supporting the development of online courses on equity-based education and improvement of the design and delivery. - Support the team to organize national and international conferences, events and workshops that are relevant to regional capacity development under the project of the team. - Planning, developing, and implementing marketing and communication strategy and plan across different channels (website, newsletter, social media channels, other). - Developing communication and advocacy materials and producing human-understandable articles. - Participating into the yearly content planning. - Developing measuring of impact: analytics, metrics and KPI’s. - Provide any tasks as required by the Programme Specialist and Project Officers. - Assist to conduct desk research, data collection and analysis on Non-Formal Education, Education for Disadvantage People, Community and Area Based Education, Assistive Technology, equity-based education, and any other topics required by the Programme Specialist and Project Officers. For the internship position, candidates must be enrolled in relevant graduate/post-graduate programme at the time of application; - Background and/or strong interest in education within the context of international development. Educational content development (courses or other) is an asset. - Technical skills and expertise in marketing, communications, growth marketing / hacking. Skills and eye in design is a bonus but not a must. - Ability to learn, unlearn, prioritize, coordinate different tasks, and solve problems. - Good research skills and ability to develop human understandable text and content. - Proficiency in MS office tools, especially excel. Strong ICT skills including data analytics tools and WordPress is an advantage.
