Org. Setting and Reporting The Convention on the Conservation of Migratory Species of Wild Animals (CMS) aims to conserve terrestrial, aquatic and avian migratory species throughout their range. It is an intergovernmental treaty, concluded under the aegis of the United Nations Environmental Programme (UNEP), concerned with the conservation of wildlife and habitats on a global scale. The Intern will work under the direct supervision of the CMS Fundraising and Partnerships Officer.

Responsibilities - Compile and analyze information and documents from a variety of sources for internal review including but not limited to (i) Non-governmental organizations (NGOs) accreditation to multilateral environmental agreements (MEAs); NGOs, indigenous peoples, youth groups and local communities and engagement in MEAs; interlinkages between migratory species and sustainable development. - Contribute to the preparation of relevant background documents for the 14th Meeting of the CMS Conference of the Parties (COP14, 23-28 October 2023, Samarkand, Uzbekistan) including to the preparation of the Secretariats’ work programme 2024-2026; - Assist in the preparation of publications and other outreach material, including the websites; - Participate at appropriate in relevant meetings with key CMS Partners and assist in their preparation and follow-up; - Participate at appropriate internal meetings of the CMS Secretariats and assist in their preparation and follow-up.

Education Studies related to international relations, environmental policy, international law or related fields

Job - Specific Qualification ability to work independently and produce high quality written outputs is required

Standard computer skills (Microsoft Office) is required

Candidates who have committed crimes other than minor traffic offences may not be considered for employment.
