Overview

  • An interest in the Division's key areas of expertise, including trade, economic cooperation, market access, innovation, infrastructure development and Public-Private Partnerships finance.

Duties and Responsibilities

The intern is expected to contribute to the work of the Cooperation and Partnerships Section and specifically to the activities of the United Nations Development Account project “Green, circular and resilient public private partnerships in support of the SDGs for transformational change in Africa, Central Asia, Europe and Latin America and the Caribbean” as follows: • Assist in the development of implementation guides on PPPs in support of the SDGs. • Assist in the organisation of the 10th edition of the UNECE International PPP Forum in May 2026. • Support the evaluation process of the sustainability of PPP and infrastructure projects in the United Nations Development Account project’s beneficiary countries, using the UNECE PIERS methodology. The intern will also perform other related duties as required, compatible with the tasks outlined above, such as: • Provide research assistance on issues of infrastructure development and PPPs, including preparation of speaking notes, concept notes, briefing papers. • Offer general communications and outreach assistance, including through social media platforms.

• Proficiency in standard software applications; • Proven ability to successfully engage with individuals of diverse cultural backgrounds and beliefs, showing an openness to try and understand and respect differing opinions and views.

Languages

English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. Fluency in English is required. Working knowledge of Russian is desirable.
