You have:
- Be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent) or be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher).
- Fluency in spoken and written English is required for the internship. Knowledge of an additional official UN language is an advantage.
- Research experience in the field of social sciences is desirable, along with the elaboration and maintenance of qualitative and quantitative databases.

Duties and Responsibilities
Daily responsibilities will depend on the individual's background, the intern's assigned office as well as the internship period. The internship will focus on topics related to public management: results-based management, institutional planning, monitoring and evaluation, open government, digital government, performance management of public officials, and institutional performance, civil service policies, among others. Daily duties include: - Support research into the public management issues mentioned above. Analyze current trends and specific experiences in each country and prepare draft texts, infographics, and other knowledge products in various formats. - Assist in the management and updating of the ILPES Regional Planning Observatory. - Systematize experiences of territorialization of the SDGs. - Prepare various reports, presentations, charts, graphs, lists, tables, and/or diagrams for information and review by senior staff. - Prepare summaries and bibliographic descriptions for inclusion in documents, articles, books, and publications. - Transfer content to applications such as Canva, Genially, and others for distance learning. - Perform other tasks as required.
Qualifications/special skills
No working experience is required to apply for the United Nations Internship Programme. Your training, education, advance course work or skills should benefit the United Nations during your internship. Research experience in the field of social sciences is desirable, along with the elaboration and maintenance of qualitative and quantitative databases. Languages
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. Fluency in spoken and written English is required for the internship. Knowledge of an additional official UN language is an advantage. Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian and Spanish are the official languages of the United Nations Secretariat.
