Org. Setting and Reporting The internship will be undertaken under the overall guidance of the Director of the Sub-Regional Office for North Africa of the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa, based in Rabat (Morocco) and the supervision of the Economic Affairs Officer. This internship is a full time job (35 hours/week) of minimal duration of 4 months with possibility of extension up to a maximum period of 6 months and it is not remunerated.

Responsibilities Under the general guidance of the Economic Affairs Officer, the intern will undertake the following assignments: 1. Contribute to macro econometric modeling activity of the office; 2. Contribute to analytical papers of the office; 3. Participate to the organization of a workshops.

Planning & Organizing: -Identifies priority activities and assignments; adjusts priorities as required; -Allocates appropriate amount of time and resources for completing work; -Foresees risks and allows for contingencies when planning; -Uses time efficiently.

Education To qualify for an internship, the following condition must be met: (a) Be enrolled in a graduate school programme in economics (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); (b) Be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme inn economics (minimum Bachelor's level or equivalent); (c) Have graduated with a university degree; (d) Strong skills in economics; (e) Strong skills in applied econometrics and computer literate in standard software applications, Eviews and STATA;

Work Experience Applicants are not required to have professional work experience for participation in the United Nations Internship programme.

Languages English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. Fluency in English (both oral and written) is required for the Internship Programme. Working knowledge of French is an asset.
