Program Overview for Climate, Economics & Finance

At WRI India, we believe that solving the climate crisis requires bold ideas, rigorous analysis, and effective communication and action. As part of the Climate, Economics & Finance (CEF) Program, we work on pioneering research and innovative solutions to accelerate India's just and equitable low-carbon transition. Our goal is to ensure that India’s path to Net Zero is not just technically sensible, but also economically viable and socially inclusive.

About the role

India has committed to becoming Net Zero by 2070 and has also submitted long-term strategies to decarbonise. While these are broad targets, there are several low-carbon pathways that India can take at the sub-national level towards these targets. In this context, WRI India is supporting the State of Madhya Pradesh in developing its long-term low-carbon development strategy.

WRI India is looking for candidates having broad understanding of energy and climate landscape in the country or states and having good qualitative & quantitative research and writing skills.
