Expected duration

Minimum desired duration is 3 months, and maximum of 6 months as per UN regulations. F-1 visa holders can only work part-time Desired start date is as soon as possible upon completion of administrative requirements

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Contribute Results-Based Planning and Budgeting: Assist in the enhancement of results-based planning and budgeting processes by providing administrative contribute, organizing relevant documentation, and ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives. 2. Contribute to Monitoring and Evaluation Activities: Participate in monitoring and evaluation efforts by collecting and analyzing relevant data, preparing reports, and providing insights to improve project effectiveness and efficiency. 3. Contribute to Project Development Initiatives: Actively participate in project development initiatives by conducting research, drafting project proposals, and liaising with stakeholders to identify funding opportunities and strategic partnerships. 4. Contribute to Fundraising Activities: Contribute fundraising activities by assisting in the preparation of funding proposals, coordinating donor communication, and maintaining donor databases to ensure effective donor stewardship. 5. Contribute to the utilization of Core Business Applications: Contribute to the utilization of core business applications, such as IPMR, as part of OSAA's IPMR pilot, by providing input, testing functionalities, and offering feedback for improvement. 6. Contribute to the documentation of OSAA's Business Reform: Assist in documenting the OSAA business reform process to serve as a case study for other UN offices. This includes conducting desk research and contributing to a draft report. 7. Contribute Training Initiatives: Assist in the development and implementation of the OSAA Nexus online training course. This includes collaborating with team members to design course materials, organizing virtual training sessions, and providing technical contributions to participants.

Qualifications/special skills

To qualify for the United Nations Headquarters Secretariat Internship Programme, the following conditions must be met: a) Be enrolled in or have completed a graduate school programme in the field of computer science, analytics, statistics, information management, public administration, management or related field (second university degree or equivalent or higher such as Master’s degree or equivalent, Ph.D. or postgraduate degree); b) Be enrolled in or have completed the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum Bachelor’s level or equivalent). (c) subject to review on a case-by-case basis, applicants within a few years from graduation who could not apply earlier and who are in an early stage of their careers; as a first-time entry into the workforce; are changing careers or due to compelling family circumstances.

Languages

English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the position advertised, fluency in English is required; and knowledge of French is desirable. Knowledge of another official United Nations language is an advantage
