JOB PURPOSE

To deliver a limited number of routine programme tasks, to ensure that programme staff are effectively supported.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)

Under the supervision of the Programme Policy Officer and overall guidance of the Head of Programme, the incumbent will be responsible for the following duties:

  1. Collect, sort and disseminate correspondence, reports and other materials, to meet the required demands of staff to time standards.
  2. Respond to simple routine queries with readily available support by senior staff, and escalate where appropriate, in order to provide a timely and accurate response to enquiries.
  3. Support the maintenance of office files, documents and records in accordance with established systems and processes, so that information is current and readily available for staff.
  4. Undertake standard data entry tasks in accordance with defined systems, to ensure information is organized and readily available.
  5. Assist in creating simple images or information using standardized templates, such as graphs or tables to support the drafting of reports for staff.
  6. Undertake field visits to project sites in liaison with the program team;
  7. Organize programme missions and briefing sessions for WFP; and
  8. Perform any other related duties as required.

STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Currently enrolled and have attended University courses in the last 12 months inclusive of having completed at least two years of undergraduate studies or have recently graduated in the last 6 months’
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point);
  • Fluent in English and Siswati

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

  • This is a local position for Swazi nationals only.

  • Interns receive a monthly stipend from WFP up to the maximum amount of US$1000 per month depending on the duty station of assignment.
  • WFP is not responsible for living expenses, arrangements for accommodation.
  • WFP will recognize candidates’ educational credentials from recognised institutions that have been certified by competent international or national authorities such as the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) or Ministries of Education;
