Duties and Responsibilities

Responsibilities: Daily responsibilities will depend on the individual's background and may include but are not limited to: • Assisting in the design and implementation of OCHA People Strategy activities relating to organizational culture, staff engagement, diversity and inclusion, and duty of care. • Conduct descriptive, exploratory, and predictive people analytics on specific issue(s) upon request. • Assisting in tracking, monitoring, and reporting on the People Strategy activities. • Supporting the implementation of OCHA Pulse Check, including analysis and communication on the results. • Supporting the preparation for meetings including agenda, background documents, meeting notes and talking points. • Supporting People Strategy communication, including the intranet presence and the quarterly newsletter. • Responding to various inquiries and information requests internally and externally related to the work of the section. • Performing tasks as requested by supervisor, as needed.

Qualifications/special skills

Applicants must be a student in the final year of the first university degree (bachelor or equivalent), Master’s or Ph.D. Programme or equivalent, or have completed a Bachelor’s, Master’s or PH.D. Programme. No working experience is required to apply for the United Nations Internship Programme. Your training, education, advance course work or skills should benefit the United Nations during your internship. TEAMWORK: works collaboratively with colleagues to achieve organizational goals; solicits input by genuinely valuing others’ ideas and expertise; is willing to learn from others; places team agenda before personal agenda; supports and acts in accordance with final group decision, even when such decisions may not entirely reflect own position; shares credit for team accomplishments and accepts joint responsibility for team shortcomings.

Languages

English and French are the official working languages of the United Nationals. Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of French is desirable.
