Duties and Responsibilities

The interns (4 positions) will undertake a variety of tasks to support the OHCHR Evaluation, Planning and Policy functions in the successful completion of their Work Plan. Under the direction and supervision of the Evaluation Officer/Programme Management Officer, the intern shall undertake the following tasks: • Assist in the management of evaluations in the Evaluation Plan 2025-2026, including the collection of documents from the PMS and other sources for desk reviews, preparation of meetings, revision and proof reading of evaluation reports. • Assist in the drafting and revision of guidance, guidelines, checklists and templates for the preparation and format of evaluation reports and planning documents, executive summaries, evaluation management responses and follow-up actions plans. • Support the overall evaluation communication strategy (specifically the use and dissemination of evaluation findings), as well as the planning and policy communication strategies, including the development of communication materials such as infographics, videos, summaries, and presentations. • Support the work on mainstreaming of Gender Equality, Disability inclusion, Human Rights and Leaving No One Behind (LNOB) in evaluations and planning documents. • Update the repositories of evaluation reports in OHCHR intranet and website, as well as in UNEG website. • Organize the database of evaluation management responses and follow-up action plans. • Assist in the upload, review and correction of the evaluation related data (reports and management responses) in the Decision Tracking System. • Assist in the upload of the data of the evaluation in the evaluation module of the Performance Monitoring System (PMS). • Assist in the revision and maintenance of the database and mailing list of evaluation consultants. • Assist in the screening and recruitment of candidates for evaluation consultancies. • Assists in the analysis, internal outreach and presentation of data relating to the implementation of the OHCHR Management Plan (OMP) 2024-2027 and projects. • Assist in the quality assurance of OHCHR’s work plans, country programmes, projects and related reports. • Assist in the implementation of existing and new processes for the review and approval of OHCHR’s planning documents, including the pilot and roll-out of new digital tools and workflows. • Support the organization of events and meetings, including by preparing agendas, background notes, and meeting summaries or minutes, and help track action points. • Support the harmonization of the guidance on development of governance documents eg. Policies, SOPs, etc and ensuring alignment with strategic requirements. • Contribute to the revision of the governance documents templates. • Assist in compilation, review, and updating of the database of existing governance documents while supporting the review of those outdated and liaising with focal points to facilitate the review. • Assist in updating the intranet and decision-tracking system with relevant policy documents and progress. • Support the implementation of the Organizational Effectiveness Action Plans (OEAPs) related to Leadership and Organizational Culture Shift and contribute to the monitoring framework for tracking OEAP implementation progress. • Assist in the preparation and organization of workshops and initiatives in line with the OEAP goals • Other tasks as directed by the supervisors.

Qualifications/special skills

Applicants must meet one of the following requirements: (a) be enrolled in, or have completed, a second university degree, equivalent, or higher; (b) be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree (bachelor's degree or equivalent). Applicants are not required to have previous work experience. However, a field of study that is closely related to Policy, Programming or Human Rights issues is an advantage. Drafting ability in English is an advantage. Skills in graphic design is an advantage.

Languages

English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. Fluency in spoken and written English is required for the internship. Knowledge of an additional UN language is an asset.
