Result of Service 2. Objective. The overall objective of the contract is to produce an interior design plan for the new ROLAC office space located in Obarrio, Fortune Plaza in Panama City, Panama.

Responsibilities Responsibilities of the Consultant includes, but are not limited to: 1. Understand the architectonic features and furniture of the office space under design, this includes visits to the office space 2. Understand the values and needs of the ROLAC office staff that need to be taken into consideration on the design and aesthetics approach. Amongst which, environment organization, cordiality, collaboration, healthy and productive. These values will be spelled out by the New Office Committee. This considers meetings with Regional Director, Deputy Director and New Office Team. 3. Incorporate the recommendations of the expert in Biosafety related to the full scope of the new COVID 19 and biosafety standards that need to be introduced in the signage and use of the new office space 4. Discuss integrated design options, at least 3, with the Office Director and New Office Committee 5. Produce final plan with sketches and graphic solutions binder and implement it in the office space

3. Outputs / Work Assignments

Understand the architectonic features, furniture of the office space, values and needs of UNEP LAC office to draft and propose at least 3 interior design alternatives to UNEP LAC Office management for approval Product 1: Summary of preparatory work report

Discuss with UNEP LAC office management the 3 interior design alternatives for approval Product 2: Document containing 3 interior design approaches

Elaborate a detailed work plan of the interior design selected by the management, incorporating the biosecurity measures, green office standards, identifying the components, the tasks to implement it and timeline Product 3: Detailed work plan of the interior design containing only 2 options of the interior design

Present the detailed work plan for LAC office management approval Product 4: Final interior design plan including the detailed work plan with identification of the components and the tasks to implement it

Draft terms of reference for all components indicated in the work plan approved. Product 5: Document with terms of reference for each component of the plan and identification of the possible vendors.

Participate in the identification of the possible vendors and the selection process together with the procurement team Product 6: Document of vendors identified through the participation of the evaluation of the selection process together with the procurement team for each component

Once the components are purchased incorporate them in the premises Product 7: Result of the incorporation of components of the design plan in the premises

Duties and Responsibilities 1. Purpose.

The United Nations Environment Programme, (UNEP), is the leading global environmental authority that sets the global environmental agenda, promotes the coherent implementation of the environmental dimension of sustainable development within the United Nations system and serves as an authoritative advocate for global environment.

The UNEP Latin America and the Caribbean Office (ROLAC), located in Panama City, works closely with the 33 countries of the region and its activities are integrated into the Medium-Term Strategy and the Programme of Work approved by the United Nations Environment Assembly (UNEA).

UNEP ROLAC is seeking an interior design consultant required for the proper signage and decoration of the new facilities of the Latin America and the Caribbean Office. The offices have 1650M2 divided into two floors of 825M2. Decoration and aesthetic plan must be suggested to raise positive state of mind and collaboration among staff members while respecting new Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID 19) and biosafety standards. Decoration designs Include covering of walls, and vinyl’s for glass separators, signage and introduction of plants whose components has to comply with green office building standards. Signage is required to guide users adequately within the office space including the respect of biosafety guidelines. Visual artworks plan, possibly related to the 50th anniversary of the organization, will be discussed with the Regional Director and the New Office Committee of ROLAC. Furniture is not included in the office space design as this has been ordered, but must be considered in the overall esthetic approach of the interior design

The consultant will be supervised by the Regional Director, will be home-based in Panama as will have to visit the office venue regularly to implement the interior design actions related to the approved interior design plan

Qualifications/special skills Academic Qualifications: - Degree in architecture, interior design or related field is required.

Experience: - A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in architecture interior design or related field is required. - Experience working on green building – commercial interior projects, especially projects pursuing LEED certification is desirable.

Language: - Fluency in Spanish is required for this position. Fluency in English is desirable.

Skills: - Excellent writing and editing skills are required. Computer skills (MS Office, e-mail, internet, dropbox, web editing) are required.
