You have:

  • Undergraduate degree preferred, ideally in Social Work or a related field of study.
  • Minimum of 2 years relevant work experience in human services field.
  • Demonstrated success working and communicating effectively in a multicultural environment.
  • Proven ability to contribute both independently and as a key team member.
  • Self-starter with excellent problem-solving skills combined with the proven ability to multi-task, prioritize duties, and manage time effectively.
  • Fluent in English, both spoken and written; bilingual ability in Swahili, French, or one of the predominant languages of the local client base is strongly desired.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Valid driver’s license, access to a reliable vehicle with current insurance, and the ability to travel regularly throughout the service delivery area.

Job Overview/Summary: Ensuring that refugees with special and unique needs have the support necessary to integrate into their new communities and become self-sufficient, the IRC in Abilene Intensive Case Management (ICM) program provides support and case management services to refugees and asylees. This position reports to the Casework Coordinator.

Major Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

- Manage a caseload of ICM clients including developing individualistic service plans. - Assess and monitor client progress at regular intervals to ensure progress on goals is made and designated resources are maximized, modifying initial service plans and other case file documents as required. - Build and maintain partnerships with external community service providers to improve client access. - Connect clients with local resources through referrals, and/or assistance with intake. - Assist clients with overcoming the barriers they face and achieve their goals for economic and social self-sufficiency. - Assist clients with transportation and/or interpretation needs. - Provide individualized and group orientations, and support clients through social service referrals, medical access, and advocacy. - Follow up with clients on progress toward established goals. - Provide Covid-19 orientations to clients. - Ensure compliance with case file management and reporting requirements. - Other duties as required.

Working Environment:

Standard office environment and regular field travel to support clients and retain community partnerships. Occasional evening and/or weekend work required.
