You have:

  • Degree in public policy, politics, economics, social research or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).

Role Summary

The Tony Blair Institute for Global Change is seeking a highly analytical and politically attuned Insight Manager to join our Political Insight team.

This role is central to monitoring, interpreting and delivering high-quality quantitative and qualitative research that informs TBI’s policy agenda in the UK and internationally. The successful candidate will play a key role in analysing political polling, identifying shifts in public attitudes, and translating complex data into clear, compelling insight that shapes policy development and public debate.

You will work closely with the Director of Insight and policy leads to ensure research is methodologically rigorous, strategically aligned and impactful.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and analyse published polling relevant to TBI’s priority policy areas, producing concise summaries of key findings, analysis of developments in public attitudes, and assessment of shifts in policy debates.
  • Support the design, commissioning, delivery and analysis of quantitative and qualitative research projects across the Institute, including in international contexts.
  • Produce clear, concise and accessible analysis for internal and external audiences, including policy teams, senior stakeholders, funders and partners.
  • Work closely with the Director of Insight and policy leads to develop research proposals that inform major policy outputs or generate independent insight with strong media and public engagement potential.
  • Contribute to original research projects and support the production of policy papers, reports, blogs and other Institute publications.
  • Work collaboratively across teams and undertake other duties as reasonably required to support the goals of the Political Insight team and the wider Institute.

Person Specification

  • Deep interest in the major political and policy challenges facing governments in the UK and globally.
  • Strong analytical capability, with experience applying quantitative and qualitative techniques to interpret data and draw meaningful conclusions.
  • Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to write clearly, concisely and with impact.
  • High standard of verbal communication and confidence engaging with senior stakeholders.
  • Good understanding of media and communications landscapes, including social media, print and broadcast, and how research can shape public debate.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced and sometimes unpredictable environment, managing competing priorities and tight deadlines with professionalism and composure.
  • Collaborative mindset and strong interpersonal skills.
