How can you make a difference?

The Innovation Manager (Data and Business Solutions) leads the Data Operations and Business Solutions workstream with additional data analytics and technical solutioning responsibilities across the Section. The overall goal is to lead and manage the GSSC data assets and quality frameworks, and to develop, test and scale innovative, state-of-the-art business solutions that support operational efficiency at all levels of the organization; identifying opportunities to improve business processes through the use of digital technologies.

This will involve:

  1. Manage data assets and established data quality frameworks
  2. Manage GSSC’s innovation pipeline
  3. Business solutioning
  4. Leadership and management of staff

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

Requirements:

  • An Advanced University Degree or equivalent background, in computer science, data science, software engineering, information systems or other related disciplines is required. Relevant qualification in Design Thinking, Agile, LEAN, DataOps, PMP, PRINCE2 is desirable.
  • A minimum of 8 years of professional experience, at the national and international level, specifically leading technology-related innovation projects and process design is required.
  • Must have a strong understanding of technology and how it can be used to improve efficiency and customer experience.
  • Experience in working with corporate ERPs (Enterprise Resource Planning) tools, understanding of software development languages, systems and frameworks (including frontier technologies), DataOps (data modeling, data integration, data quality management, and data governance) is an asset.
  • Experience in a UN system agency, large private or public company, or experience working in a developing country and/or humanitarian/ emergency context is an asset.
  • Fluency in both spoken and written English is required. Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) is an asset.
