You have:

  • Advanced degree in a relevant field (i.e., Business and Management, Communications, Organizational Development, etc.) with at least four years of relevant change management experience, or a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field with ten years of experience is required.
  • Change Management experience and certification preferred - Certified Change Management Professional (CCMP) or Prosci Certified Change Practitioner.
  • Proven project management experience (PMP certification desirable).
  • Design thinking expertise and experience applying design thinking principles to generate innovative solutions.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple concurrent assignments in a busy, dynamic environment.
  • Excellent collaboration, teamwork and relationship management.
  • Analytical abilities and mature judgment, drive for results, a pragmatic and problem-solving mindset, and strong interpersonal and written/oral communication skills.

The Office of Innovation and Change (OIC), a unit of the Office of Transformation Management (TRM), promotes best practices in change management and innovation at the IMF. The OIC’s team of certified change management and innovation professionals work to prioritize the user experience, ensure change management for IT-intensive transformation programs, and foster innovation through human centered design-thinking and other activities.

Job summary

The Innovation and Change Management Officer will promote a staff-centered approach to change that supports business ownership of transformation projects and encourages adoption of new ways of working. The Officer will work in concert with transformation program teams to ensure effective change management using a standardized framework, and in partnership with departmental teams to support innovation initiatives that improve the effectiveness of the IMF’s support for member countries.

Key activities

  • Apply the IMF’s standardized change management framework and tools to develop change strategies and plans that support adoption of changes required by IT-intensive transformation programs and other projects.
  • Develop plans for sponsor & leadership alignment, engagement & readiness, stakeholder management, communications, and other engagement activities.
  • Define and measure Organizational and Change Management success metrics, and monitor change and adoption progress, consistent with Program goals.

  • Support organization change management maturity assessments.

  • Perform change management intake and organizational readiness for pipeline projects.
  • Collaborate closely with program teams, workstream leads and other subject matter experts to ensure effective change management through communications, training, process improvement, and information technology.
  • Develop and administer feedback mechanisms including surveys, focus groups and other formats to solicit actionable end-user input.
  • Design and implement strategies and collaborate with departments to promote innovation across the IMF.

  • Establish relationships and forums with external institutions to exchange experiences around innovation and change management practices

  • Plan, design, and facilitate various types of workshops (strategy, project, change, innovation, process improvement).
  • Build change management capabilities within project teams and among stakeholders to enable long-term success of change initiatives.
  • Utilize human-centered design thinking principles to develop creative and engaging innovation and change management solutions that meet the needs of stakeholders, foster innovation and drive adoption of new platforms and processes.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to ensure effective communication and engagement throughout the project lifecycle.
