Result of Service - Successful implementation, re-/configuration, deployment, and integration of: - VMWare Hybrid Cloud ready environment ie.: ESXi, Vcenter, Update Manager, VSphere Replication, DRS, VSAN, Distributed Switch, Data Protection, Operation Manager, AppVolume, Thinapp, User Environment Manager, Site Recovery Manager, NSX, etc. - EMC Unity SAN with the VMWare environment. - Activities related to the ICTS BCDR plan by configuring servers and VMWare SRM to be deployed offsite. - Next Generation Firewall (NXGFW) within the ESCWA Data Center - ACI Fabric infrastructure: deployment, configuration, VMWare, and security integration. - Assigned data center operations, servers, switches and other data center equipment - Participate in the deployment of the new Cisco-based Wireless environment - Delivery and administration of any other IT Infrastructure tasks assigned in the areas of network engineering/administration, server/systems management, storage management, and/or IT security operations/administration Offsite BCDR Infrastructure ready for Hybrid Cloud environment ACI Fabric and Wireless project are implemented in an efficient and timely manner Network Segmentation completed as per the policy NGFW implemented in an efficient and timely manner Technical Documentation

Expected duration 6 months

Duties and Responsibilities Under the overall guidance of the Chief, ICTS, and direct supervision by the Team Lead, Infrastructure Network and Security unit, the Sr. IT Systems/Network Engineer will perform the following tasks:

• Lead/Participate in reconfiguring the existing VMWare environment to be Hybrid Cloud ready. ie.: ESXi, Vcenter, Update Manager, VSphere Replication, DRS, VSAN, Distributed Switch.
• Lead/Participate in Configuring and implementing additional VMWare products to complete the Hybrid Cloud project. ie.: Data Protection, Operation Manager, AppVolume, Thinapp, User Environment Manager, Site Recovery Manager, NSX.
• Lead/Participate in integrating the EMC Unity SAN integration with VMWare environment.
• Lead/Participate in implementing the ICTS BCDR plan by configuring standalone servers and VMWare SRM to be deployed offsite.
• Lead/Participate in the implementation, planning, management, and configuration of SCCM
• Lead/Participate in implementing and configuring the Cisco NXGFW within the Data Center.
• Lead/Participate in deploying and configuring the new Wireless controller and Access Points
• Lead/Participate with the ACI Fabric infrastructure deployment, configuration, and VMWare integration.
• Lead/Participate with data center operations, servers, switches and other data center equipment

• Lead/Participate in preparing, reviewing, revising, and maintaining technical documents, including network and systems engineering, standard operating procedures, testing, and user documentation.

  Qualifications/special skills Academic Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in computer engineering or related field is required. Experience: 7 years of work experience in designing and implementing Cloud and VMNWare Solutions, Next Generation Firewalls, Cisco ACI Fabric, Network Segmentation and Wireless Systems is required. Language: English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this position, fluency in English is required. Knowledge of a second official United Nations language is an added advantage.
