Result of Service- Well installed and smooth operations of all courseware within the UNEP Moodle instance. - Design and delivery of the Moodle LMS usage dashboard / report. - Contribution to the design of the Moodle LMS application architecture roadmap according to established UN standards for IT technologies, programming languages and tools. - Other tasks as indicated in the above list of duties are carried timely and cost-effectively.

Duties and Responsibilities Background The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) is the leading global environmental authority that sets the global environmental agenda, promotes the coherent implementation of the environmental dimension of sustainable development within the United Nations system and serves as an authoritative advocate for the global environment. This position is located in UNEP's Corporate Services Division, Enterprise Solutions Section at the Nairobi duty station. The Individual Contractor will report to the Chief, Enterprise Solutions Section and will be responsible for the following duties:

- Be involved in the installation and maintenance of the UNEP Moodle -based corporate learning management system (LMS), https://elearning.unep.org, particularly the Law Division BCH-III virtual learning courseware. The platform though hosts other course wares produced by other offices of UNEP. - Design and development of the Moodle LMS usage dashboard / report as per the requirement by the courseware owners. - Contribute to the design of the Moodle LMS application architecture roadmap for existing and new course wares. - Perform other tasks as required, including participation in drafting the cost recovery modality of CSD LMS services, as well as participation in ensuring that the Moodle architecture roadmap aligns well with UNEP’s overall digital Enterprise Architecture, and end-user support.

Qualifications/special skills Academic Qualifications: A Diploma in Computer Science, Information and/or Communication Technology or a related field is required. Experience: A minimum of 3 years of progressively responsible experience in system analysis, software and database design and development related area is required. Experience in LAMP stack (Linux, Apache, MySQL and PHP) skills; Moodle; Version Control (Git /Jira); Ja-vaScript: is desirable. Language: English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the position advertised, fluency in oral and written English is required. Knowledge of another official United Nations language is an advantage.
