Org. Setting and Reporting This position is within the Enterprise Solutions Service, Office of Information and Communications Technology (OICT/ESS) hosted by ESCAP in Bangkok. The incumbent reports to an Information Systems Officer within OICT/ESS.

Responsibilities Under the direct supervision of the Information Systems Officer and general supervision of the Enterprise Solutions Service Chief, the incumbents will perform the following functions: - Provides basic support in the planning, specification, design, development, implementation, and maintenance of customized test suites for custom applications; works with senior QA staff on the definition and specification of test requirements. - Supports senior staff in the creation and maintenance of test suite for custom applications within mobile and desktop architectures, etc.; assists in the preparation of test documentation materials. - Maintains regular contact with software developers and project managers of tested applications. - Conducts research on new technologies as requested; keeps abreast of developments in the QA and Testing field. - Performs other related duties as required.

Job - Specific Qualification Must have passed the United Nations Global General Service Test (GGST) at Headquarters or an equivalent locally administered test at Offices Away from Headquarters.

Work Experience A minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience in information systems analysis, software development, systems administration, testing and maintenance is required.

5 years of experience testing desktop and mobile web applications is required.

Experience with testing Windows 11 is highly desirable.

Languages English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this position, fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another official UN language is an advantage.

Assessment Qualified candidates may be assessed through a competency-based interview and / or other assessment methods.

Special Notice This is a temporary position and will initially be available for three months. If selected, an internal candidate will be on temporary assignment to the post; an external candidate will initially be offered a temporary appointment. Any extension of appointment is subject to satisfactory performance and continued availability of the post.

Appointment against this post is on a local basis; candidates shall be recruited in the country or within commuting distance of the UN office, irrespective of nationality and length of time the candidate may have been in the country. If no suitable local candidate is identified, candidates located elsewhere may be considered. The candidate is responsible for any expenses incurred in taking the relevant examinations at the duty station, and of any costs related to traveling and relocating to the duty station in the event of an employment offer.
