This is a UNV International Specialist contract. This kind of contract is known as International UN Volunteer. It is normally internationally recruited only. More about UNV International Specialist contracts.

Eligibility criteria

Minimum age: 25 years old. Nationals of the country of assignment are not eligible, except the assignments in Headquarters duty stations.

Description of task

Under the direct supervision of the responsible FTS Field Coordinator, the UN Volunteer will undertake the following tasks:

  • Record, maintain and track service requests or calls within the CRM system (iNeed) using ITIL concepts;
  • Attend to all tickets assigned, ensure resolution at Tier 1 level or following up with Tier 2 until the issue is resolved/closed;
  • Assist new user registration login, mail and SAP account access;
  • Perform installation and configuration of pc/laptop running Microsoft Windows 7 OS or including TCP/IP protocol stack configuration, IP address assignment, DNS configuration, Internet Proxy settings, Active Directory and Antivirus server update;
  • Support users with mailing account setup with Microsoft Outlook Exchange, , password reset for Active Directory and SAP accounts;
  • Support staff with Microsoft applications, UN mission critical applications like FSS, SAP acounts on Umoja Tier 1 Level support and user access roles provisioning;
  • Installation of network peripherals such as printers, digital senders and other ICT devices;
  • Assist in the installation of network insfrastructure including network cabling, indoor cable trunks sockets and communication racks; troubleshooting network connectivity and wireless access issues;
  • Assist in setting up Video Conference/Projectors in coordination with VTC team for meetings;
  • Umoja Tier 1 support in UNMISS, in accordance to approved SOP; Troubleshooting and escalating to Tier 2 when needed;
  • Perform other related duties as may be required from time to time by FTS Management.

Qualifications/Requirements

Required degree level:

Technical/Vocational diploma

Education - Additional Comments:

  • Electronic/Telecommunications Engineering

Required experience:

36 Months

Experience remark:

  • 3-5 years experience in supervising user support and IT related issues.

Language skills:

  • English(Mandatory), Level - Fluent

Area of expertise:

Electrical engineering

Area of expertise details:

  • Computer skills: Good technical knowledge of ICT matters and associated equipment. Basic knowledge of Umoja and iNeed is desirable;
  • Excellent written and spoken English

Driving license:

Yes
