This is a UNV National Specialist contract. This kind of contract is known as National UN Volunteer. It is normally only for nationals. More about UNV National Specialist contracts.

The mission of WHO EMRO Health Emergencies (WHE) Programme is to build the capacity of Member States to manage health emergency risks and, when national capacities are overwhelmed, to lead and coordinate the international health response to contain outbreaks and to provide effective relief and recovery to affected populations.

The UN Volunteer is expected to have strong health background and excellent writing and reporting skills to undertake the following tasks:

• Support the documentation of the Country Health Emergencies activities. • Compile, review and analyze team reports and documents to develop final technical reports. • Collect success stories, lessons learned, best practices and testimonials for reporting and documentation purposes.

Public Health or other relevant areas, in addition to strong writing and reporting skills in health related matters. And, • Experience with the UN or other international development organization is an asset. • Excellent oral and written skills; excellent drafting, formulation, reporting skills; • Accuracy and professionalism in document production and editing; • Excellent interpersonal skills; culturally and socially sensitive; ability to work inclusively and collaboratively with a range of partners, including grassroots community members, religious and youth organizations, and authorities at different levels; familiarity with tools and approaches of communications for development; • Ability to work and adapt professionally and effectively in a challenging environment; ability to work effectively in a multicultural team of international and national personnel; • Solid overall computer literacy, including proficiency in various MS Office applications (Excel, Word, etc.) and email/internet; familiarity with database management; and office technology equipment; • Self-motivated, ability to work with minimum supervision; ability to work with tight deadlines; • Sound security awareness.

National Specialist UN Volunteer gets the following package: • Volunteer Living Allowance (around EGP 16,139.08/Month) • Entry Lump-Sum = USD 400 (one-time payment paid in EGP) • Exit Lump-Sum upon completion of contract. • Medical and life Insurance premium/Cigna (100%) and dependents policy. • Access to UNV E-Campus for training and learning including access to LinkedIn learning.
