The Institute of Capacity Development Department (ICD) of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) has an opening for Information Management Officer / Sr. Information Management Officer to support its Strategy and Evaluation Division.

Under the supervision of the management team of the Strategy and Evaluation Division, the selected candidate is expected to perform and lead day-to-day administration of information management in accordance with established procedures. The incumbent participates in evaluation, design modification, implementation, and maintenance of existing or proposed systems to structure and access databases and web content management; works on one or more projects as a team member, often working independently with minimal guidance; ensures that records and data are managed in accordance with Fund policies; assists team members in change management, communication, outreach and related work to entrench new work practices among Fund staff.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Data Visualization: Developing innovative, user-friendly visualizations for the databases under the purview of the division; presenting dashboards/data sources and keeping current on best practice procedures in data visualization.

Data Integrity: Monitoring data for adherence to standards, departmental policies, and timelines.

Supporting database users by documenting user guidelines, checklists, data standards, system polices, and changes; training staff on best practice procedures in database management and by providing guidance on practices and procedures to the division.

Implementing change management across a diverse work force and assisting with communication of changes.

Trouble shooting system issues in specialized project management systems and engaging with others to implement new ways of working; identifying opportunities to gain efficiencies in responding to data requests.

Collaborating and building relationships with staff in other departments in support of the data work.

Qualifications

Educational development, typically acquired through the completion of an advanced university degree in programming/systems, computer science, statistics, finance, mathematics, economics, or related field study or equivalent; or a bachelor’s degree in computer science, statistics, finance, mathematics, economics, data management, change management or related field of study supplemented by a minimum of six years of relevant professional experience is required.

Preference will be given to candidates familiar with data reporting tools and software, including but not restricted to Tableau and Power BI and Clarizen/Adaptive Work. Working knowledge of the IMF’s internal Capacity Development Management and Administration Program (CDMAP) is a distinct advantage.

In addition to the above requirements, the selected candidate should possess strong project coordination skills and excellent analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills; show initiative and attention to detail, have the ability to establish priorities, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects effectively and be able to work under pressure both autonomously and in a team environment.

This is a one-year contractual appointment with the International Monetary Fund. Contractual appointments are renewable for up to four years of cumulative service, pending continuous business need and incumbent's performance.
