Overall purpose of the role:

Responsible to provide overall support and oversight of Information management function within the Consortium management unit and develop suitable solutions to support operational functions. The Information management specialist, in cooperation with consortium partners and other internal stakeholders, will explore needs and options to support set up an information management system platform to derive and extract quality data on durable solutions enabling proper insights. He or she will Provide information management support to consortium management unit and partners, by supporting the identification and definition of information process flows; ensuring the solidity of the data model, and supervising the data\process coordination of the durable solutions with other relevant core competencies such as Protections and food and livelihood security.

This will need to be aligned with existing DRC best practice / tools and appropriate to the context of operation and coherent with other operations.

Responsibilities:

  • In cooperation with other consortium partners plus stakeholders, develop a sound strategy for harnessing secondary data through the use of support systems such as geodata and GIS tools, and support the consortium management unit and other partners staff engaged in these activities
  • Lead the identification, review and integrity of datasets extracted from multiple sources to identify any co-relation and anomalies and create an action plan to capacity building or catering to creating operational standards easing towards its analysis.
  • Under the guidance of the Consortium MEAL Manager and MEAL working group, support in producing infographics and data visualizations; and build relevant a dynamic dashboard and tools that can be utilized to structure data analysis for both internal and external audiences to improve data user understanding on durable solutions including participation in information sharing sessions.
  • Responsible for providing specialized knowledge and operational know-how within Information management, including support to Information Management focal points from consortium partners in Central Darfur,
  • Provide technical support and capacity building to partner staffs on information management and data collection functions.
  • Support in improving the dissemination methods for durable solutions information products and the positioning of durable solutions products among key stakeholder and users.
  • Develop structured Information Management products and solutions to support different functions with the consortium management unit.
  • Support operations by providing timely trends analysis and data visualization products from ad hoc requests.
  • Where it is required, support development of GIS capacities and products within the consortium management unit and partners.
  • Lead efforts to ensure data protection and confidentiality are held up to organizational standards, including conducting periodic analysis of operational tools and procedures.
  • With the approval of the MEAL Manager and Chief of Party, upload all durable solutions reports to the website and ensure timely sharing of products with Headquarters (HQs) and the Regional Office as assigned.
  • Under the guidance of the MEAL Manager, support consortium partner field staff to capture progress in project implementation through photographs, testimonials, and other media avenues. This may also include structure reporting formats, inputs and data collection tools for donor reports and for advocacy analysis and reports
  • Experience and technical competencies:

    Generic professional competencies:

    Minimum 3 years of experience in information management

  • Ability to coordinate tasks and work processes and work with short deadlines
  • Experience with facilitating and leading internal organisational processes
  • Context related skills, knowledge and experience:
  • Knowledge of tools such as ARC GIS and other ESRI related mapping tools
  • Expert knowledge of Power BI, Excel and Visual Basic
  • Long-term experience in the development of and visualization of solutions data sets
  • Expert knowledge of solutions information management functions and coordination mechanisms
  • Education: Degree/Masters of Science in information management
  • Languages: Fluency in English and Arabic, both written and verbal
