Overview

Serve as the lead for IM setup in Jabel Marra AO overseeing efficiency and collaboration with the MEL team.

You have:

• Minimum of 2 years of overall experience in information management, data analysis, data visualization, and effective use of data management tools and digital solutions, preferably in humanitarian or development contexts
• Experience in designing data collection tools, database management and surveys
• Bachelor’s degree in information management, Computer Science, Statistics, or related field or any relevant study
• Fluency in English and Arabic, both written and verbal
• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize effectively
• Knowledge of the Sudan Emergency Response crisis an asset
• Previous NRC experience in a similar role an asset
• Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a cross-cultural environment

The Information Management Officer will serve as the technical lead on the Information Management (IM) setup in the Jabel Marra AO. This role will oversee the IM system's efficiency, reliability, and accountability, manage resources, and closely collaborate with the Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning team.

Responsibilities

Generic responsibilities

1. Lead IM System Development: In collaboration and support of Program Area Management, develop and maintain an efficient, reliable, and accountable Information Management (IM) system specifically designed for different Cash and Voucher Assistance (CVA) responses in Jabel Marra AO.
2. Design Data Collection Surveys, PDMs, and Assessments: In collaboration with and support of Program Area Management, work closely with the Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) team to understand project objectives. Design assessments and surveys to guarantee the effectiveness and reliability of data collection tools, aligning them with the project's objectives.
3. Provide Analytical Products: In collaboration and coordination with IM CO, design data analysis products and incorporate innovative approaches, such as interactive dashboards and data visualization through maps and infographics, based on field-collected data and secondary data sources for analysis purposes to support decision-making and effectively depict humanitarian response efforts.
4. Ensure Data Quality: In collaboration with and support of Program Area Management, ensure that IM systems are up-to-date with high data quality standards and protocols for data collection, storage and analysis, thorough data validation checks and documentation processes. To ensure traceability and transparency, by providing recommendations for continuous improvement and capacity building.
5. Recommend Processes Improvements: In collaboration and support of Program Area Management, evaluate and assess current processes to Identify areas for enhancing organisational IM processes and propose tailored solutions. Simultaneously, assess current data management tools and technologies to pinpoint opportunities for digitalization and automation, considering scalability and cost-effectiveness.
6. Digitalize Tools and Trackers: In collaboration and support of Program Area Management, develop, evaluate existing data management tools and trackers and identify opportunities for digitization and automation, considering factors such as scalability, and cost-effectiveness.
7. Collaborate on Reporting: Coordinate with the Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) team and other stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely data reporting, including supporting donor reports and proposals as required.
8. Ensure Data Protection Compliance: In collaboration with and support of Program Area Management, ensure compliance and implement NRC's data protection policy across all activities. Ensure staff awareness of data protection protocols. Oversee proper filing and management of SharePoint Platform and databases.
