The Information Management Officer will play a vital role in UNICEF’s support for Ministry of Health (MoH) initiatives on digitalization of Iraq’s health management information system (HMIS), digital mapping, geographic information systems and the capturing, analysis and dissemination of information that is important for the Health and Nutrition (H&N) Section’s programming and reporting.

Reporting to the Health Manager, the Information Management Officer will work with the relevant MoH Departments to strengthen the Iraq HMIS, to better enable key decision making and resource allocation.

The Information Management Officer will also lead the Section’s programme data monitoring, survey/questionnaire design, data analysis and dissemination relevant to the needs of the sector, while working towards the decentralization of information management in the Section.

The Information Management Officer will represent the section in the Country Office’s preparation of the 2023 Iraq multi-indicator cluster survey (MICS) and contribute to the Section’s engagement with the Office’s Programme Monitoring and Evaluation team.

The Information Management Officer will also contribute to Section meetings, highlighting the evolution of needs, capacities, gaps and challenges.

To qualify as a champion for every child you will have… A university degree in public health, health programme management or equivalent experience in specific programming area and/or in a relevant field is required. Expertise (supported with certificates) in geographic information systems, Information Technology, Information Systems, computer science or related fields is required. A minimum of two (2) years of solid professional work experience at the national and/or international levels in Health and Nutrition development and emergency programming in developing countries. Emergency field experience working in humanitarian situations, including deployment missions (with UN-Govt-NGOs) is an asset. Fluency in English and Arabic (written and verbal) is required.
