Manage data related to programming activities for reliable humanitarian response.

You have:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages
• University degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Statistics, Social Sciences or a relevant field
• Experience with Typescript, including concepts like generic, asynchronous and functional programming
• Knowledge of KoBo or other ODK-based applications
• Experience with React
• Experience with RESTful APIs and optimizing front end performance
• Advanced level of English language proficiency; Fluency in Ukrainian
• Confident user in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
• Proven abilities in data collection, compilation, analysis and reporting
• Knowledge and skills in using ArcGIS/ESRI software will be considered an advantage
• Knowledge and understanding of MEAL cycle

Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is a leading protection agency with a mandate to protect, advocate and promote durable solutions for displacement affected populations.

DRC has been operating in Ukraine since 2014, currently DRC employs over 800 staff in Ukraine and implements emergency response in the Protection, Livelihoods, Shelter/NFIs and Humanitarian Disarmament and Peacebuilding (humanitarian mine action) sectors, using direct interventions, support to duty bearers and civil society organizations (CSOs), and partnerships with CSOs. DRC will continue and adapt its durable solutions portfolio to the evolving context.

DRC is currently looking for a Information Management Officer (Information Management and Database Officer) in Kyiv.

About the job

You will be responsible for the management, analysis and sharing of data related to programming activities as well as DRC’s population of concern, with the aim to provide reliable, quality and comprehensive information that supports the development of an evidence-based humanitarian response.

Your main duties and responsibilities will be:

• Maintain and manage the online database for DRC’s beneficiaries.
• Implement the features and user interfaces like dashboards and databases.
• Architect efficient and reusable front-end systems that drive complex web applications.
• Collaborate with other departments to improve the product on their feedback.
• Identify and resolve performance and scalability issues.
• Developing scripts (using TypeScript) to update or migrate existing dataset to ensure consistency.
• Conduct data analysis and identify pertinent variables, trends, and patterns providing valuable
• insights for informed decision-making.
• Support Team Leaders in technical application of the database in instances where the data entry is undertaken by programme staff.
• Support programme colleagues in case of any technical difficulties or questions regarding the database and IM in general; provide trainings for colleagues on how to use the database.
• Generate monitoring reports and perform backup operations; contribute to the formatting and development of documents regarding collected data.
• Perform data quality checks of the database on a weekly basis, reporting any issues and changes to the IM manager.
• Ensure information regarding beneficiaries is consolidated into one database and is up-to-date; identify missing data and follow up with Team Leaders.
• Support in providing beneficiary lists and data for monitoring activities, including PDM and evaluation reports.
• Apply data program techniques and procedures.
• In line with DRC’s Information Management SoPs, keep all data protected and confidential.

About you

To be successful in this role we expect you to have a minimum of 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages. Moreover, we also expect the following:

• Experience with Typescript, including concepts like generic, asynchronous and functional programming.

• Experience with RESTful APIs and optimizing front end performance.

• Proven abilities in data collection, compilation, analysis and reporting with ability to write in a clear and concise manner and effective oral communication.
• Knowledge and skills in using ArcGIS/ESRI software will be considered an advantage.

We offer

• Contract length: 3-month probation period with the possibility of extension up to November 2026, depending on performance results.
• Band: H.
• Designation of Duty Station: Kyiv.
• Start date: November 2025.

Salary and conditions will be in accordance with Danish Refugee Council’s Terms of Employment fornational employees.
