Org. Setting and Reporting

This position is located in the Administration & Information Office, Counter-Terrorism Committee Executive Directorate (CTED), set up to support the Security Council's Counter This Terrorism Committee. The incumbent reports to the Chief of Administration, Administration & Information Office, CTED.

Responsibilities

Within delegated authority, Under the overall supervision of the Chief of Administration, the Information Management Officer will be responsible for the following duties: * Provides advisory services on information and data management practices; needs and business process analysis; organization and maintenance of CTED information assets; and information management policies and procedures, with an emphasis on technological implementations in CTED context. Collecting, organizing, protecting, and storing CTED data so it can be analyzed for business decisions. * Researches, analyses, and evaluates new applications of information technology while considering the specific requirements of CTED. To optimize business processes and enhance data management and analysis, conducts extensive research on the latest tools and technologies in the areas of innovation and business automation. Provides no-code or low-code software solutions when necessary. * Participates and leads data management and data analyses improvement projects, contributing to feasibility studies, systems analysis, design, development, and implementation and in the evaluation and testing of application improvements and new systems; provides user support. * Develops detailed system and other functional specifications and standards from the data management perspective and user documentation for new systems. Plays an important role in connecting operational needs and technical solutions. This position manages active collaboration with peers and coordinators to gather and analyze requirements for the development of new platforms. * Develops training materials and user manuals; trains staff in use of the information and data management systems, helps to implement self-service data analytics, facilitates process to increase technological and data awareness in the office. * Designs and implements SharePoint-based document management systems, tailored to meet organizational needs and requirements. Configuring SharePoint libraries, setting up metadata tagging systems, and integrating advanced search capabilities to optimize document retrieval. Provides secure and scalable document storage solutions, ensuring data integrity and accessibility. * Participates in developing client outreach strategies and in their implementation. Collaborates closely with the Public Information Officer to architect, design, and maintain the public-facing website. This involves, development, regular updates and maintenance of the website's content, layout, and design to adapt to evolving requirements. * Assists in programme administration, including provision of assistance to or supervision of contractual employees and General Service staff, formulation of consultant and institutional contracts and subsequent implementation, development of the programme budget, etc. * Collects and analyzes data to identify trends or patterns and provide insights through graphs, charts, tables and reports using data visualization methods to enable data-driven planning, decision-making, presentation and reporting. * Provides technical support to meetings: Plans and selects the most suitable online platforms to support diverse range of meeting formats, including in-person, hybrid, and virtual settings. Facilitating various types of meeting, such as CTC plenary, open briefing, and other events. * Provides second level helpdesk support to administer the information technology resources for users in the office and assist them in troubleshooting and resolving office IT problems. * Draft and propose the annual ICT and communications budget. * Performs other related duties, as required.

Education

Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in information science, information systems, computer science or related field. A first-level university degree in combination with qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree. Successful completion of both degree and non-degree programs in data analytics, business analytics or data science programs is an advantage.
