Result of Service Hazard and exposure, vulnerability and coping capacity related data in Central Asia is collected, processed, analyzed and final results are produced as an updated subnational risk index for Central Asia . The disaster loss and risk related database/data repository is established. Enhanced capacity of the CESDRR in the area of disaster risk assessment.

Duties and Responsibilities Under the direction and supervision of the ROECA Programme Manager and project coordinator, with support from INFORM Team lead, the incumbent will be responsible for the following duties and responsibilities:

Coordinates data collection, cleaning and maintaining a repository of risk related information to support subnational risk index, Sendai Framework implementation progresses and DRR related information in Central Asia.

Supports and develops the analysis and visualization of hazard and exposure, vulnerability and coping capacity related data to support decision-making processes and programming.

Provides guidance and expertise to the CESDRR in establishment of database for losses caused by disasters for Central Asia

Prepares information products (country profile, maps and dashboards) and proactively supports CESDRR’s communication strategy with partners.

Establishes and maintains good working relationships and partnerships with National Statistics Offices, CESDRR, development partners, NGOs, donors and other organizations to promote data sharing and transparency.

Qualifications/special skills Academic Qualifications: Advanced university degree (Master's degree or equivalent) in information systems, information technologies, computer science, disaster and emergency management, or related area is required. A first­ level university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying work experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree. Experience: A minimum of three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in information management, working with data processing and database management or other related fields is required;

Experience in the design and development of data collection tools, data entry, processing, analysis and visualization techniques is required;

Experience adapting and processing indicators on disaster risk reduction related data is desired.

Experience working in international, intergovernmental and governmental organizations in Central Asia is desired; Language: English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the post advertised, fluency in Russian and English is required.
